The winners of the 2008 Seán Ó Faoláin Short Story Prize are:

1st prize - Julia Van Middlesworth - 'Daddy Dead'

2nd prize - Anna May Mangan - 'The Red Dress'

Who was he, Laurie? Sadly most of the writers are still numbers to me (i.e. not linked to their story title). Do you know the name of his story?

FYI, Julia (who won 1st) also won the Fish Short Story prize this year. Which just goes to show that good work will always rise to the top.
And also that Cork is a lucky charm for her!
