INVENTIVE BOOK MARKETING - AN EXAMPLE!

OK, I'm not a fan of videos on blogs, or YouTube for that matter, but this is a funny and inventive promo video from Colm Liddy for his début book from Penguin Irl, Forty Fights Between Husbands and Wives.

I admire Colm's gumption in the promo stakes - how on earth, it makes me wonder, am I going to adequately promote my new book in the autumn?!? I just haven't a clue...

See here for Colm's video

Hi TFE
That was Miranda July - and it was the top of her fridge. She has another mad vid about a button factory on her site.

The wall of death? Hrmm, I'll have to think about that one, but thanks a million for the kind offer of your Honda 50. I might find SOME way to use that...maybe in a Lady Godiva style streak through Ballinasloe? The book is called 'Nude'...

That vid. is hilarious.

Nuala, TFE's honda offer sounds promising...looks like you've got it sorted with the Lady G. theme... : ) I'll be trying to pull something 'miraculous' from up my sleeve for my own efforts...god save us!; )

I don't think I have the personality to do something weird and/or wonderful, promo wise. Too shy.

Any (serious) suggestions are welcome, though. My book is short fiction, with the theme of the nude in art, against a backdrop of women and men, in love and out of love, and generally making a mess of their relationships.
