WE'RE WET AND DRY AT INDIEOMA

Over at Indieoma this week we're talking Wet and Dry. Only most of us are talking wet... as Johnny Others, one of our editors, points out:

"Maybe it's because water makes up 65-80% of a human body, represents around 75% of the world's surface, helps to create the most far-out forests, or simply the fact that (to our knowledge) life is impossible without it; Indieoma invites you to share our excitement at a decidedly moist feature."

I have three soggy poems here. I live in Galway for God's sake - all we know is the wet!

And I thought Auckland was bad! But do the bugs die off in an Irish winter?

"Through the Deep, for Séamus Hosey" had me drowning: got me by the throat, especially the "fingertip.." part...dark and beautiful.

Yes, Rachel - the insects are pretty much gone in the cold months. But they are in full force now - buzzing around my house, driving me nuts!

Thanks for nice comments on my poem.

Thanks Liz. I wrote it after a trip to the Aran Islands, where I happened to bump into Seamus H. It's a small literary island!

I've told Indieoma about that problem - it appears to be sporadic. I dunno.

As for the words, TFE - from reading, I guess.
