PRUFROCKS AT FLAT LAKE FESTIVAL
I am reading at the crazy and cool Flat Lake Festival again this year, this time as part of a group of women poets called The Prufrocks. We are: me (!), Barbara Smyth, Mary Mullen, Jaki McCarrick and Liz Gallagher.
Our reading is at 3pm, Sat 15th August 2009 on The Theatre Stage, Flat Lake Festival, Hilton Park, Co. Monaghan
Out with the ladybird wellies again this week-end (that's me, above, reading at Flat Lake 2008.) I hope it doesn't bucket rain for the whole time like it did last year - I have a baby to keep dry this time. Hmmm.

You look cool in your wellies missus! Wish I could be there.

Well hello little K!! And thank you ;0)
I predict a riot. There's your gang. Emerging writers gang, and the poetry chics. Its bound to kick off...
And 'Prufrocks' is a brilliant name by the way.
The Prufrocks! I love it!
There'll be lady poetry wars - har har!
I can't take credit for the name - it may have been Jaki's choice. I came up with The Mslexics - but I guess it was too close to 'Mslexia' mag.
One of the divas suggested setting our differences (presuming we have some) in a mud wrestling. Maybe wellie wangling content would be more ...elegant
anyway. the website http://www.theflatlakefestival.com/SCHEDULE-OF-EVENTS/2009-programme has you down at 7pm. Is it wrong?
Hi K
Yes it is wrong on their site. We were meant to have 2 slots, Sat and Sun (and we still may have..) but for the mo it's Sat at 3pm.
Mud wrestling? I don't think so...!
Best of luck with that missus! Dig those wellybobs! If you fall over in them, do you roll around on your back for five minutes waving your arms and legs in the air before popping back onto your feet? I want me a pair!
Hi R - hee hee, picturing me flailing on the ground. Maybe if I have too much wine?!
I got the wellies in New York. I had trawled the net looking for an adult sized pair to no avail. I love them. (I have a thing for ladybirds!)
Oooh the weather forecast for Saturday is cat-o-matic: rain, rain, rain, and possible flooding - eek!
