US publisher Carolina Wren Press is looking for entries for the Doris Bakwin Award - a book prize for women writers. I am reliably informed that 'books by this press are very well done and received' and that 'they would like Irish writers to enter'.

Deadline: March 15th, 2012

A prize of $1,000 and publication by Carolina Wren Press is given biennially for a short story collection, a novel, or a memoir by a woman. Submit a printed copy of the first 50 to 60 pages of a manuscript and an electronic copy of the full manuscript with a $20 entry fee by March 15.
