READING AT MOLLY KEANE'S HOUSE

I'm teaching a short fiction workshop and doing a reading at the Molly Keane Writers' Retreat in Waterford this Saturday. The retreat takes place in Molly Keane's house in Dysert, in her own words a 'cottage hanging above Ardmore bay, above the village and the Catholic church, its east window lighted over the sea on winter evenings.'

This is a particular thrill for me; my Ma introduced me to Keane's novel Good Behaviour as a teenager. My sister Nessa and I - we were always playacting - used to pretend to be Aroon St Charles, the 'large, unlovely daughter'.

My reading is open to the public and you can book it by emailing mollykeanewritersretreats@gmail.com or by calling Mary Lys at 085 7431377.
