very interesting! What does it say about me that of all the books you mentioned, I've only heard of Wings of a Dove and not read it, seen the film (I think...). Will hunt out Manuel Muñoz, thank you for the recommendation.

Manuel's work is sublime. He's an FOC shortlistee from last year.
