ATHLONE LITERARY FESTIVAL
I'm taking part in an event at Athlone Literary Festival on Saturday at 2pm, Shamrock Lodge Hotel, with fellow writer Gabriel Rosenstock. Chaired by Jason Gill, we will be discussing the influence of landscape on poetry. Full programme here.
And the Making Space Collective have produced an art exhibition inspired by my short story 'The Egg Pyramid', which has just won the Dublin Review of Books Flash Prize. I can't wait to see what they came up with. Works will include painting, photography, drawing, sound art, installation and sculptural pieces.
Artists exhibiting include: Lorna Kincaid, Aoife Hegarty Doolan, Róis Ní Dhochartaigh, Sam Sutton, James Hallinan, Louise Duignan, Louise Shanagher, William Conway, Niamh Nic Giolla , Susan Sheriff, Tadgh Kellerher, Cathal McCormack, Dennis McCormack, Rose Finnerty and Ruth Daly. The exhibition launches tomorrow night, Friday, at The Shamrock Lodge Hotel at 7.30pm.

The art exhibition based on your story sounds wonderful, what a brilliant thing to have created from your work.
Really looking forward to reading your winning story.
Cheers, Dan. I'm looking forward to seeing how the various artists interpret the work.
Yay, congrats! Love the name of your story, can't wait to read it.
Heard on the radio Mary O'Rourke will be reading from her memoir on Sunday. Gas woman - could be worth a gander. ;)
Mary was there at the launch last night, smiling at Juno :)
I'll take pics of the exhib works and post them.
